Junior Road Safety Officers

The JRSO scheme is co-ordinated by Glasgow’s Road Safety Unit who support schools in promoting road safety within the school community.

Two JRSO’s are recruited in every primary school each year and help the Road Safety Unit promote and deliver road safety within their school and local community to help keep everyone safe.

In Antonine Primary School we offer our young people in Primary 7 the opportunity to nominate themselves for the role of Junior Road Safety Officer (JRSO). In September every year elections are held for pupil groups and two JRSOs are elected by their peers.

This session our JRSO are Emilie Kelso and Kie Owens. Their duties include displaying a road safety notice board, giving class and assembly talks, running competitions within our school and promoting road safety in the Drumchapel community.

The Antonine school community very much values the work of our JRSO.
